3 hrs to explore, walk or relax!

The ONLY direct service from Bournemouth and Poole to Lulworth Cove and Durdle Door.

See the two biggest highlights of the Jurassic Coast, England’s first Natural World Heritage Site.

This is not a guided tour, your driver will take you to Lulworth Cove and Durdle Door via a very scenic route. When you arrive they will give you plenty of information and maps so you can enjoy the area, but you are free to explore it on your own.

The vehicle size will vary according to how many people are booked, it might be a mini-coach in the winter and a double decker bus in the summer.

If you join the bus tour in Bournemouth you will enjoy a scenic drive with views of:

  • Poole Bay
  • Sandbanks
  • Poole Harbour
  • Poole Old Town and Quay

The bus drops you at either Lulworth Cove or Durdle Door at about 12:30 and will then depart from Lulworth Cove at 15:30, getting back to  Bournemouth at approximately 17:00

Most of our passengers get off at Durdle Door and then after spending some time there; walk the one mile or so over the hill to Lulworth Cove. This walk is over a well trodden path over Hambury Tout which is a BIG hill (though not steep) and it does give magnificent views in both directions, remember to look behind you. The walk is a mile or so and takes about half an hour.

PLEASE NOTE: Durdle Door is about half a mile from the road and paths to it are picturesque but rather hilly. Most people, young and old, can walk there and back, albeit with some effort and some sweat on their brow … that is half the fun after all! If you do have difficulty walking then you may find that you are not able to reach Durdle Door by foot. If this is the case then you can spend the whole time at Lulworth Cove, where there is plenty to see much closer to where the bus stops.

You will be given a map by the driver highlighting the main features, but it is a great place to follow your nose and have a look around at your own pace.

Lulworth Cove is in the village of West Lulworth and has a number of cafes, pubs, restaurants and a fish & chip shop.

Durdle Door does have a small refreshments kiosk open during the summer when the weather is fine.

There are toilets at both Lulworth Cove and Durdle Door

Please note, it is important that the tour departs on time so that all passengers can enjoy the tour. If you are coming to Bournemouth by train or coach on the day, please plan to be in Bournemouth at least an hour before the departure time to allow for any delays. To ensure the tour runs smoothly we are not able to wait for late passengers.

Please also note that whilst every effort is made to stick to the above timings, they are approximate and traffic congestion and hold-ups do occur, particularly in the peak summer season. We advise you not to book your return travel until at least after 18:00, and if you can, have an open ticket.

Many of our passengers come down from London for the day and then after the tour have a few hours in Bournemouth before returning home later.

If you have any luggage please let us know in advance as the luggage compartment can be limited in some vehicles.
